The Socceroos will be heading to the West Coast for their World Cup fixtures next year after the venues for the tournament were locked in overnight.
Australia will take on their European playoff qualifier to kick off their campaign at the 55,000-seat BC Place stadium in Vancouver with the Canada fixture getting underway at 2pm (AEST) on Sunday, June 14.
That opponent will be determined in March with Turkey, Romania, Slovakia and Kosovo in the running to be the UEFA Play-Off C qualifier.
The Socceroos will face host nation United States at Seattle Stadium at midday on Friday, June 19, which will mean a 5am start time for fans on the Australian eastern seaboard on Saturday, June 20.
Their group stage will end on Thursday, 25 June at San Francisco Bay Area Stadium in Santa Clara with a 7pm clash which equates to 12pm AEST (Friday, 26 June).
All matches will be broadcast on SBS.
Socceroos coach Tony Popovic was relieved to have all the match details locked in.
“We have been preparing for many months, but now we can plan with certainty, knowing our match schedule and kick-off times for the World Cup,” he said.
“We will have a tough group regardless of who qualifies from UEFA, but we will go in with a lot of optimism and confidence.
“We know many Australian fans are planning on travelling, and we look forward to having strong support from them.”
