Chiefs loose forward Simon Parker is in line for a Test debut against Argentina with two All Blacks stars ruled out of the first Test on Sunday (7.10am AEST).

All Blacks coach Scott Robertson delivered mixed injury news on Tuesday when he revealed Scott and Beauden Barrett would be fit to take on the Pumas, while Wallace Sititi and Tamaiti Williams have been ruled out.

Scott Barrett missed the second and third Tests against France after suffering a calf injury in the opening match, but is available for selection this weekend. His brother has recovered from he broken hand he suffered against France.

“They’re great,” coach Scott Robertson told reporters. “Beauden’s hand is fine and Scooter’s leg is all good.

“He’s rehabbed really well, and he’s taken the chance to recondition. He’s in great condition.”

However, Robertson will be missing two of his young guns.

Robertson confirmed Sititi, who missed the France series with an ankle injury, will miss the first Test but would hopefully recover for the second Test.

Williams has returned to training but won’t be ready in time for the opening match of the All Blacks’ TRC campaign.

Sititi’s absence has led to speculation that Parker, the only uncapped player aside from injury cover, named in Robertson’s squad, is in line for a debut having joined the squad following his NPC commitments.

“He’s ready to roll. “He’s slotted straight in. He talked to the team about what it meant for him to be here, what’s inspired him, and how he’s got here,” said Robertson.

“It was a nice moment for him. It’s All Black tradition, when someone arrives and is named into the squad. It was a great moment for us to get him into the group and be part of the All Blacks.”

The Pumas have a strong recent record against the All Blacks, and beat them in Wellington last year.

“It’s still in our memories,” said Robertson.

“They’re a team with a lot of experience, a lot of them play in Europe, they’re really well coached, and they play with passion.

“It’s been a long time since we’ve been in Cordoba and played with their fans and the passion that comes with it on the night.

“Anyone can beat anyone on the night, you’ve got to be at your best – every game. That’s the exciting part of this tour.”
